Eight elephants are loaded on trucks as they are transported from Kanchanaburi province to the capital Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday, June 5, 2006 ahead of their trip to Australia where they will be part of a captive breeding program. Animal welfare groups have protested the transfer, saying the animals will suffer in the confined space and should remain in the wild. (AP Photo)
